D.I.Y Slip-Ring for lighted wheels(also called a power puc by Raw Designs)

4 months of research and fabrication have finally paid off.....I built my own power pucs (Slip-Rings) to run LED's inside my wheels and I'm sharing my info with you guys to make your own. Total cost of DIY was less than $100. Raw Designs wants $500 for their sets and they won't last near as long as this set.

I will be posting a link soon to my youtube channel.....cannot load all info here because of space needed

Slip-Ring mount for LED Wheels (Home-made) - YouTube

So far I've rode it just over 300 miles with the slip-ring installed.....no issues yet other than cleaning the rings of graphite residue twice......Other than that all is good. I expect the brushes to last around 700 miles before needing replacement

Effective. 700 miles of operation? Or 700 miles period?

700 miles before brushes wear down and need replacement.....brushes cost around $3 a set, so it's affordable .

tire balancing with lights

awesome idea and execution!!! I love the way the lights look.

just one question - how or what does it do to the balancing of the tires when lights are put on the rim?
