Mine will do that from time to time. But after years of riding and riding carbed bikes/quads it is just second nature to give it a little juice while cranking to get it to fire off.

I'm too lazy to edit my post. I knew I didn't remember having any gasket material to clean. It has an oring seal in it.... Just clean off the factory silicone and apply new before reinstalling.

Even with my broken in tires on the Z1000 it's common for the tire to spin. New tires are a little extra oily but the Z has enough power that it likes to spin all the time.

I wouldn't worry about it. The biggest change you'd see is if your quiet mufflers have the baffle in them which would restrict airflow.
