Ash! I just got these messages. I logged onto the online site for the first time in months (I am always on mobile). Thanks so much for the more thorough explanation. As always, we love to get advice from our best rider!!!

Just remember that you adjustments only control one speed of the compression and rebound. There is high and low speed compression and rebound. Depending on what your adjusters control also effects the ride. I will not be able to explain it all in 1 message mate.
1st priority is sag- Rear you need from topped out 30-35mm rider sag and 5-10mm static sag. If it outside those figures its saying it needs a different spring. Fronts you need from topped out 30-35mm rider sag. static sag on the front in as precise as rear but you need at least 10mm.
See how you go and send me a message or create a thread and I will answer what I can you concerning the dampening side. At least a thread the other guy's see it and may pick something up too.

On the ZX6 front end that would be the adjustable nut on the top of the forks and the spring adjuster on the rear. This alone will be the reason why you are finding the ride harsh on bumps as there isn't enough sag for the wheels to fall into the lows in the road.
The settings for the dampening and the forks (rebound on the top, compression at the bottom of leg I believe) would be hard to know without knowing what has been done. I would start by seeing where they are now. Write it down, then from all the way in wind out 2.5 turns and see how it feels. Remember compression controls the upstroke (hitting the bump) the rebound controls the downstroke (wheel returning after the bump).

    Hi cooldudesmd,
Firstly I wouldn't say that I'm the best rider on this forum as many guy's have much more experience and passion as I have for motorcycling around
Okay, when it comes to sag you need to have around 30-35mm front and rear. I found my model zed prefers 35mm. 12mm is not enough to be able to soak up all the bumps in the road. With this setting I would be surprised if you had any static sag anyway. Easy way to check it is hold the bike upright, without sitting on the bike pull up on bars. Do they rise any? Do the same at the rear, standing next to the bike with it off the stand try lifting the rear (rear footpeg mount is good for this). Does the rear lift before topping out? If you say it doesn't lift front or rear which iswhat I would expect with only 12mm sag then you need to back off the preloads.
