I've used Road 3's for the last several years and always have gotten great mileage out of them. I don't do any crazy cornering, so not sure how they handle there, but wet or dry roads, they were outstanding for normal riding.

I get 11,000 out of a Pirelli Angel GT rear, and about 16,000 on the front. I've tried Pilot Road 4 on the rear, and they take too long to warm-up for my liking. I got a little more distance out of that, I think.

Currently I have a Shinko 005 rear, which I'm not much a fan of. I haven't had other tires feel this slick when new. I don't think I'll buy another.

I'm running Pirelli Angel GTs. I've put 7,000 miles in them and there is barely any visible wear.

Pirelli Angel GT Sport Touring

They are good looking and performance is great also. Middle of the tire is harder compound and side are soft. I would buy another set for sure.

What have you used before, and what did you like or dislike about them?

How long do you expect the tires to last?

You would recommend them to someone who's planning to do a 6,000 mile trip across the USA? There are a ton of different tires available partly because people have different needs.

On Q3Plus right now, but will most likely go back to diablo rosso 2 or 3 on the next change. Had them before and liked them more.
I am also going to go for the talled profile of 190/55 vs stock 50. want to see what's that all about.

I mostly ride low speed twisties in the canyons.
