Suggestion for Z1000 16 slip-on exhaust

Hello Z-brothers,
I am the new guy here. I just bought the bike 2 months ago and put 1k miles on it. Now, I think this is the time to get rid of the stock exhaust. I am thinking about the Akrapovic Megaphone. I'm really appreciated if you guys can give me some suggestions. P/S: My budget is around $600.

Hello and welcome to our lovely forum!

How loud do you want your exhaust to be? The megaphone should be approximately very loud.

@JohnJuan,

Thank you for answering man. From what I heard on Youtube, it does not sound that loud. Have you heard the sound in person?

Slip-ons alone will not make much of a difference. I just purchased a '16 as well and put a set of M4s on. I barely notice a difference at all from stock. You will need headers or at least a Y-pipe (decat) to make some sound.

Arrow headers and Leo cans here, you need to ditch the bread box if you want some volume as already said,

I just put Akra carbon fibre slip ons on my 2015. They look fantastic but, I was surprised that they are actually quieter than the OEM mufflers. Sound is nice but, quiet.

Akra headers & Y pipe - SP Engineering pipes. I would not want to ride it very long without hearing protection. Sounds awesome but very loud.

I decided to go with Akropovic Megaphone. It sounds better than I expected, it is not too loud, just enough for me.
Thank you guys for all the suggestions.

Awesome, I love the look of the megaphones. Would have gone that route myself but, was afraid they would be insanely loud. Glad to hear they're not.
