just picked up a used bazzaz fi , the po had installed a custom tune from his auto tuner off his ninja 1k with full exhaust.. could i run the ninja 1k map or is it different then the z? i figured even though he had a aftermarket exhaust i have the stock opened up exhaust so shouldnt be too different .. but wasnt sure if a n1k tune can be used on a z.. if not ill just download the Z map off there site..

The larger box on the Z will focus the HP towrds the top-end. The smaller box will add a little more torque down low. Perfect for the Ninja's purpose if a passenger and luggage is on the menu.
Honestly, the performance difference will be so small, considering the cams, heads and TBs are exactlty the same, I don't know why Kawi bothered making 2 different boxes. Probably, as you suggested, the Zed gets a meaner sound. The N1k sounds like a high pitched wheeze.
after looking over the bazzaz it comes with 2 maps installed, 1 for the Z and 1 for the ninja 1k , they sell a switch i can mount on the handlebars to switch beetween the 2 or under the rear seat i can unplug the jumper wire from the bazzaz harness and it switches the maps from 1 to 2. so if his custom map doesnt work ill just switch to the stock Z map. getting ready to install it tonight.. anyone good at reading the fuel trims of a map? i can post up his trims he made with his auto tuner?
