son has an 09 new lleft over, he's mad cause it won't do 3rd gear power wheelies. he's ordering a 520 kit he said it will be down 1 in front up three in rear. sounds like alot of change to me. right now it hits rev limiter at 103 in first.(on the back wheel.) i'm ordering a 16 tooth for mine and may be a 17 if that isn't enough. 59 mph in 6th at 4000 isn't my cup of tea. with new muzzy full and pcv hope i'll be able to do it and still have enough on bottom for 1st and 2nd power wheelies. some one posted muzzy said 1st thru 3rd power wheeliies and about 15 hp . i'm figuring with stock gears.we'll see after next week.

I, at first, wanted the new z to have the ZX10 motor, but now am happy it did't. I can put up with 30 less hp for this motor, I love it and love being an under dog. I havent riden an ZX 10 and do want to, but whatever, the street is a diffrent place.

Next month I get to visit the track and get to see if I can still hang with the ZX's on the straights (doubt it) with the Z.

Side note, Tonight I raced a Ferari Enzo and an Triumph Speed tripple and won both rounds, I love PCH from Newport beach to Long Beach, so many high end cars.

correct me if i am wrong but i thought i read somwhere that the new z has an engine all to it's self. 1049cc not the same as either the older z or zx 10.

yes JrRick, thats what I read also, sorry if I implied it was based on the ZX.

almost wish it was. the upgrades might be better. cams, throttle bodies, pistons. could have been interesting. might be stuff available later. hard to get perfomance stuff still.i'm waiting patiently(not) for my exhaust amd pcv. filter was drop shipped, but won't use til other stuff gets here. tires lasted 3 weeks. new record for me. new ones should be here wednesday. peanutbutter sandwiches this month.
